Yes, we need directions ASAP... we should meet once in 15 days atleast.
Also now we with rsamudrala ,satishbsk and SDdesi having joined the SOCal chapter we are 39 member strong team!!!

This is the Indian mentality at work. My EB3 bro whose employer(company policy) did not allow him to file under EB2 even though he had over 7 years of experience and was making 70 bucks an hour when he filed, is not better than his EB2 bro just cos he is EB3.
That is it. Nail on the head. No, thats not all, look at the support, and these are Indian folks. I live in a small city with 150 Indian families (most of them doctors and other occupations) who have migrated to the US atleast 25 years back.
These people are just happy that we are here, that they now have a 150 family Indian community that they can call their own.
And here we are, all the skilled Eb2 guys, who are superior to the EB3 guys not wanting their EB3 non-immigrant men to ever get their Green Cards.
It is funny that rather than trying to correct the system, fight the inefficiences and amend the laws, someone is tryin to channelize their energies to fight against their own group. And more surprising is that there are a lot of supporters.

They said the same thing about Clinton having the Dem nomination locked up a year ago. :) Do not underestimate the power of grassroots organization, unified efforts, public awareness and its influence over the representatives, call/fax/flower campaigns and active lobbying. Do not get discouraged and keep trying till you succeed.

I received a reply from Dept of Labor. According to that, my e-mail to Elaine Chao is directed to them and they say Labor certification is an employer driven process blah blah .. and only employer and attorney can request the info, and so I have to talk to my employer.
Then they say backlog is expected to be eliminated by September 2007. And they are looking for ways to improve transparency in "Permanent Backlog centers".
In summary, a hopelessly bureaucratic message. I doubt if they ever read the e-mails.

How many though contacted their Senators for this ammendment ? Chances are that Numbers USA probably put in more calls than the proponents of this measure. The least one can do is let your Senator know of your disappointment and let those who voted in favor of your appreciation otherwise if one is silent how is the Senator to know if it impacts their constituents.

How insane am I? How insane are u? If it was not the USCIS, u wudn't have put ur foot into this country using ur H1B visa. U r in a foreign land and u want things happen like at the snap of ur finger? U think immigration is the only issue US has. U donno nothing about other issues the Govt is facing. If u dont like the administration...just get out. How in the world can a foreigner think about changing USCIS management process? What rights do u have? U cant even vote and u want to change the management process of a Govt body. U think u r a citizen and have all the rights. Kudos to the US Govt for making us feel at home and letting us talk like this. IV can fight upto some extent by the kind of campaigns they are hosting. But its USCIS' prerogative what they want to do. In the first place IV is fighting for Employment Based GCs. The fight which should actually be fought by Employers and above all ppl like u have the audacity to talk about the irregular management in USCIS and even going to the extent of changing it. And they took the shortest and safest way out? U think they wudn't have gotten away by NOT letting u have ur EAD now? U must be from India where there is lot of corruption. How wud u feel if US citizens came to India and propose a change in the Government. US citizens who are immigrants in India - Did u even think about it? U dont even know how to think properly. If there was never a need, none of us would have been here, irrespective of how many applications came in. People immigrate to US because there is more predictability and accountability in all walks of life when compared to other countries. Lately that has been changing for what ever reasons in the US, while other countries are emulating US's past success formula. There is a difference between in thought process of "deserve it" or "will take what ever I am given". Its not the US government that is letting any one talk. The underpinning principles of this country that make people talk. I think people on the forum are asking for some predictability and accountability after years of mishaps. If you feel that you have no rights what so ever thats fine. It appears a bit premature to say and "We have NO RIGHTS WHATSOEVER to ask for ".

It is still optimistic my freind. As one of our member pointed out, realstic number would be around 600K, which implies 16 months wait for some people. Also , we do not know the level of work force at USCIS engaged in processing EAD. It could be 10, it could be 100. More the better but it we it is fewer than we are doomed.
I think USCIS will hire contractors to take care of this shit like DOL does. EAD and AP is the most easy to process. Very less dependencies.

Once they accept I-485 in the system then they give us a Receipt#, with that Receipt we can file for EAD / AP (as long as your PD becomes available) then they will process your I-485, Just thinking.. what do you say guys ... Please lete me know.. Receipt Date Vs Visa Number ...

You can file EAD/AP together with 485. That's how I did (actually I140 PP was in the same package too). Sent on 6/21 to I140PP address. Had all the receipts beginning of July.

its been stuck at 2001 for so many years , except for 2007 july bulletin fiasco.

If you are stuck at Atlanta PERM backlog center , please email your case number and explain them that your application has been pending for a LONG time and request them to help us get out of this grave situation. Also, please post on this thread after you have sent an email so that others can be motivated to do the same. We need to send as many emails as possible to get any positive feedback. I know that DOL mentioned that they will start processing our applications soon, but we need to keep up the pressure from our end so that it has some positive effect.
I know most of the people on this forum are not in this situation ..... but let's see how many can come out of this selfishness and help others by emailing / phoning DOL Atlanta to help other brothers who want to file AOS just like them...... I checked 2007 return and it has only 100K asset. I am not sure we accumulated 350K since then. I think you got confused with revenue vs. cash on hand / asset.
